Meanwhile, the Vision of Humanity uses sources from within the last 6-12 months indicating a very frequently updated source of information which is very important.

Most of the data is from 2019 but some of the graphs we can see were published in 2018. So for this reason it is completely acceptable. Of course currency matters as if we are talking about how to stop conflicts that ended decades ago the point is lost. Also there tons of factors for instance economy at the time other wars at the time trade deals at the time. So if it is from a different time we must use information and data from that time.

I think a 2 year gap isn't that bad, and the website could still be used by other people for researches. The Global Peace Index has more recent information; it is based in 2019 data. That is more acceptable since we are still in the first semester of 2020, meaning there isn't any 100% accurate and trustable data for this year's data. The only thing is that this website covers all kinds of conflicts which is great for finding the conflict but to truly go in depth in your research I would recommend using an outside source to focus on the desired specific conflict. The second helps with the other perspective focusing on the lack of conflict helping to show the differences and similarities between countries with and without conflict, a combination of the two sources works the best as it helps to show all aspects of the world and helps to expand our understanding and our perception of the modern world. The use of multiple sources is recommended for this reason.
