Labs explodes. In a coma for nine months, Barry awakens in S.T.A.R. Labs, having been placed in the care of his scientist idol, Dr. Harrison Wells, along with his assistants, Dr. Caitlin Snow and Cisco Ramon . Barry quickly learns that he can move at extraordinary speeds, and that there were other "metahumans" created from the explosion. One of them, Clyde Mardon, is robbing banks with his ability to control the weather. In order to stop Clyde, Barry is outfitted with a suit that can withstand his high speed of movement. He tracks down Mardon and with the help of Detective West, who learns of Barry's abilities, Barry is able to stop Mardon. With his new powers, Barry vows to find out who killed his mother when he was a child, believing him to be another metahuman who has similar abilities of speed as he. Now grown up, he is a forensic crime scene assistant for the C.C.P.D. and then gets powers by a bolt of lightning that gives him super speed. Once he puts on his mask, his is known as the Flash, saving citizens and finding the man in yellow a.k.a.the Reverse Flash to get his father out of prison.

Iris West- The daughter of Joe and the foster sister/ best friend of Barry Allen, she works at a coffee place named Jitters. She is also the girl that Barry is in love with but Barry can't date her because she is dating Eddie Thawne. Iris doesn't know that Barry is the flash because Barry wants her to be safe of any metahumans or the Reverse Flash and of any danger.

Eddie Thawne- He is partnered with Joe West at the C.C.P.D. and is dating Iris West. Eddie is a little jealous of Barry because of his childhood with Iris, as Barry is jealous of Eddie for being with Iris. Although they are jealous of each other they become good friends and help stop metahumans.

Cisco Ramon- He is a mechanical engineering genius who works with team flash. He also makes technology for the flash to help fight metahumans. Also, he made the flash's suit, originally made for firefighters because of it's fire resistant abilities. He also names metahumans such as the Reverse Flash, Weather Wizard, and more.

Harrison Wells/ Eobard Thawne/ The Reverse Flash- Although he is the man of many secrets, he helps Barry get faster to stop metahumans. He took the identity of Harrison Wells because he is trapped in the past because he belongs in the future. Originally he went back in time to kill Barry Allen as a flash but the future flash followed him back to prevent that from happening. Since future Flash got child Barry to safety, Reverse Flash instead decided to kill his mom to give Barry a bad childhood.
