"It's the only one we've got," says Ma very loud.
"But I said no." pg.(40/115)  This demonstrates Jack's conflict because, at first he feels unsure, but eventually decides to go through with it.

This demonstrates Jack being conflicted because at first Jack was ready for the plan but then he said maybe but now he didn't want to do it. 
When Jack and Ma discuss after plan Didn't work Jack feels mistreated "Brilliant idea," says Ma.
She's being nice but I'm not going to forgive her." 
This shows Jack being conflicted because initially he felt he could trust Ma because he thinks that plan A will work, but now he can't trust Ma because she lied to him about plan A working and now there is a plan B.
