The Comanches have many genres of stories, their main ones are the following: folklore, mythological, and their traditional stories. A few of their stories are about their religious beliefs, and what it was like. Tools were used as a survival technic in everyday life, a few examples of tools were: bows and arrows, hatchet axe, spears, knives, and jaw bone clubs. Games have been played for thousands of years, the Comanche children were no different. Two of the more popular games were as follows: netted hoop and pole game, and animal ball. One of the things they did for fun, that wasn’t a game, was create jewelry. Like everyone, The Comanches had forms of religion. One of their main forms was the religion ‘Meager’. Clothing was the same style for most people. The men wore deerskin moccasins, while the women wore knee high dresses. For chores, girls had to cook/dry food, with help from their mothers. The boys looked after their fathers’ horse herd, and sometimes a daughter would do that too.

Along with the rest of the world, the Comanches have also changed. The women are still expected to cook and clean, the men still work outdoors, and the grandmothers care for the children. They no longer practice polygyny. The modern Comanche nation consists of an elected tribal council, with legislative and executive functions, as well as a supporting staff. The council regulate tribal membership, administers federal program, and pursues tribal land claims/economic development. On July 27th, 1853, the United States made a treaty with the Comanche people.
