The dispose step refers to the final stage in the product lifecycle where items are discarded or removed from use. This step involves the disposal of products, materials, or components through methods such as landfilling, incineration, recycling and etc. The dispose step in the linear production system often highlights the linear nature of resource consumption and waste generation, where products are manufactured, used, and then discarded without significant consideration for resource conservation or environmental sustainability.

United States is the country that most generates trash, its produced around 42 million metric tons of plastic annually, which translates to 287 pounds of plastic per capita.

The United States used to export their plastic to China but in 2017 the China government imposes requirements. What made the U.S with a big problem , the country was unable to organize it self with that many trash, as result, many municipalities stop their plastic recycle programs and sent all the trash to landfills or incinerators.
