2) The life lesson from Focusing on friends is that love can be expressed in so many ways and that we should always treat our friends of the same and different gender equally. Perhaps if we are faced in a constant struggle, we have to do things that will distract us from the turmoil. In the end, the author's patience goes a long way, as he finds comfort and joy in between the pages of books even in the midst of an ongoing world war.

2) The two passages are two different worlds that tells different lessons. Focusing on Friends taught us that love can be expressed in many ways. Even if genarally boys do not seemed to obviously  potray any feelings, the authors changed that perspective by saying he did felt love towards his friends.

In Waiting at the Drugstore, on the other hand, emphasises that patience goes a long way.
