The article Teen's Suicide Days After NJ School Hallway Attack Sparks Outrage, Student Walkouts Talks about how bullying can lead to death sometimes. There was a video of students bullying this girl at school and no one did anything about it but send her to the nurses office. As a result of the bullying, the student took her life. This article is good to talk about to students so they can see what happens when students are bullied. When teaching about this you can also teach about ways you can stop bullying, how to tell someone you trust that someone is being bullied. It is so essential for teachers to know about this topic because we as teachers need to be an advocate for our students!

Thompson, B. (2023).

In the article Yoga, it talks about what yoga is and that there is many types of it. It talks about ways to get started for example wearing comfy clothes and if you can’t make it to a class you can always find a video online to use. And it also talks about how you can keep up with it and stay on a healthy track. This is good article for students and even teachers/adults to read who are interested in getting into yoga. Also sports aren’t for everyone so this is a low maintenance physical activity that is super good and relaxing for you. A teacher can teach this by doing some research on yoga and teaching some moves they can do.

Gavin, M. L. (Ed.). (2022).

In this article Someone in My Friend's Family Died. What Should I Do?, talks about how you can help a friend who is upset about a loss of a friend or family member. it talks about how it is okay if you friend does not want to talk about it right now but let them know you are there for them. But if you begin to worry about your friend you can always tell an adult you trust and they will be able to help! This should definitely be taught in health because people handle loss in different ways and the time of varys. This article helps them learn different ways of being there for their friend. A teacher should know this information because a loss can be hard to deal with, and kids have many questions. A teacher can always look at this article and pick a way to tell the student how to handle their friend being sad.

Lyness, D. (Ed.). (2022).

In the article Smoking and Asthma, it talks about how smoke can make someone’s asthma worse. It also talks about how if you are around someone who smokes like friends or family it makes for more frequent asthma attacks. It talks about how you should let your friends and family know how it makes it hard for you when they smoke around you. This is super important to teach in the classroom because children need to know that smoking is not good. This article can also allow kids with information they can take home to their families. Teachers can teach this by showing a video or having a diagram to show what smoke can do to their lungs. This should also be taught during health because we need to make sure our students know not to smoke even if they see family or friends doing it.

Ben-Joseph, E. P. (Ed.). (2023).
