- Centralized location at front of classroom for supplies, pick-up/drop-off of daily materials
- Every student has an elbow partner and a group to belong to.
- One table dedicated to materials from previous days (close to teacher's desk)
- Lab stations around perimeter of room. Can be used as extra workspace
- Number of students in each group (6). Lots of support from classmates, and not large enough for students to blend into the background.

Ineffective:
- Difficult for teacher to move past some locations and students, especially if backpack/materials are out.
- Students in back of classroom might have trouble seeing or hearing the lesson, which was almost always at the front of the classroom.
- Not much personality or color in the classroom.

Eric Emsky- Grade 4
Effective:
-Students easily grouped
- Students have space for safety, yet are also close enough for easy conversation for inter-student connection and idea sharing
- Teacher's desk with document camera ( a main area for instruction_ is in a corner of the room and can see every student at all times
- 'Island' grouping allows for points systems to be set up and/or to recognize group/team efforts for achievement
- Bathroom passes located near the door and are not distracting for other students when some students leave the classroom
- Hall passes are in front of the main teacher's desk and allow for the teacher to see who is using the hall pass and why

Not-So-Effective:
- ~30% of students at any given point in time have their back turned to the teacher and have to physically turn around to see
-~45% of the students in the room are directly facing another student. This can be distracting or enticing for some students to talk to one another
