When I read that in Theodore Boone a bail bondsman took Woody (a 13 year old main character in this series) the bail bondsman can bail someone out of jail until there trial. you pay them 10% of what you have to pay for a full bond. However if you leave town before your trial they have the right to take you back to jail if you leave your city. Woody went on a trip for Boy scouts and was taken from school back to jail. In front of a judge later, he could be back to his house and school as the bail bondsman didn't tell them they can't leave town, he just assumed they knew. This was surprising as real laws are in this book so everything that happen, can happen. (How he got in jail is very complicated and confusing and it isn't his fault btw)

Six of Crows has been getting more and more interesting. The heist was successful, and they got someone they needed out of the Ice Court, but now the group is stuck on a boat while two of them are trying to kill the person they got out of the Court without being caught in the act. It's interesting seeing the kind of plans they're trying to create to get him out when he's with someone 24/7.

The most surprising or shocking thing that happened in my reading was about how lots of people were helping Percy from the dangers in the real world because he was a half-blood. For example, Percy’s mom knew that Percy was a half-blood so she tried protecting his scent from monsters by marrying a man named Gabe, who smelled really bad which covered Percy’s scent. Additionally, his history teacher Mr. Brunner, knew there was something special about Percy so he decided to jump into the real world as his history teacher to see what Percy was like. But he was actually half man half horse disguised as a human man.

I always read the news anyways, so I just thought that it would be interesting for that to be my daily reading. I highly recommend to read the news (from reliable sources). Many people get caught up in tabloids and take fiction for truth. I tend to read the news to know whats going on in the world. I feel like kids and teens aren't usually aware of the world's state, so I try to be extra aware.

Unfortunately, when I wan in 4th grade, I thought I would be cool if I read a book with a super high reading level. By doing this, I got a whole bunch of spoilers for the book without really appreciating because of my young age. Now, when I try to re-read it, I can appreciate the story, but I know who dies, I know what the riddle means, and I know what the secret of the witch is. So no - I didn't get a surprise because of my stupid 4th grade self.

The book said that they all agreed that if they got home and were saved, they would invite each other to dinner. Its not surprising that they are going to invite each other. What was surprising to me is that they said "if". It seemed like they all were really optimistic about being saved but as the weeks went on they started to loose hope.
