SOLUTION:  To clear the settings, have the teachers go back to their educator account and select a 7th grade student.  This should clear the course selections.  After they've done this, they should be able to go to the 8th grade demo student and when they open the Course Planner they should see a clean slate. 

SOLUTION:  Inform educators on how students can still add this math or social studies class as an elective. This can be done by clicking on the electives tab and typing the name of the math or science course they wish to select. Then, students can add the course by clicking the add button.

SOLUTION: Four years of Social Studies allows students flexibility when moving between endorsements if that becomes necessary. An additional consideration for Student Athlete is the Core Course requirement for NCAA eligibility. An athlete cannot be considered eligible for scouting purposes until the student has an appropriate number of core courses. Including World History in the student’s four year course plan helps students obtain this eligibility. In addition, this was put into the Course Planner to support students who are planning to attend a school that requires 4 years of Social Studies (UNT, SFA, LSU etc). Counselors would prefer that students sign up for a social studies course their sophomore year so that they are not denied admissions to these schools. However, if a student knows their college path does not require it and would like to proceed with exempting this requirement; it can be done on the educator side of Xello. The teacher can access the students account and select the 10th grade Social Studies box. It will have an option at the top for “Exempt Requirement.” By clicking this box, it allows students to bypass the Social Studies option. Counselors would like to know when students are looking at this option as they would like to make sure they are making the best choice to support their post-secondary decision. 

SOLUTION: Students will be put in manually by the counselors for the 2nd semester Study Hall. Xello only allows 3 co-requisites so the 4th one (2nd Semester Study Hall) has to be put in manually later.

SOLUTION: This was done intentionally because not every campus schedules these courses in the same way. If you know that your High School campus does that you will need to ask students to add the additional block.
