         <description><![CDATA[My brother and I hiked Mount Si over the summer. The hike has 3,150 ft in elevation gain and we hiked up in 1.5 hours. With Calculus you could determine rates and where we were on the mountain at a certain time. ]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I like to walk my dog around Ames Lake everyday as a nice break from quarantine and computer screens. The lake is around 2.2 miles around, and the walk takes around 45 minutes. Calculus can be used to determine our rates, especially because there are a lot of hills so our speed is constantly changing. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Roller Coasters are probably one of my favorite things. That feeling when you plunge down and then back up is great! I love Disneyland (Aileen you know what I'm talking about), Silverwood, and I really want to go to Six Flags some day. Calculus allows roller coaster and ride designers to determine the maximum height of the attraction without jeopardizing the safety of the riders. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Video games aren't my favorite activity but it is fun to finish a game. You feel like you completed something amazing. Like all the hours spent were worth it. Calculus was and can be used to find the maximum height of my jump and my speed at different points so I know where I will land. It helps me parkour knowing how far my character can physically jump.</div>]]></description>

I could calculate how long it should take me to get to my destination. It could also show the difference between average velocity and instantaneous, because those are way different when you are sitting in traffic.</div>]]></description>

It's a high speed game of constantly rotating around the net and switching between offense and defense, hitting the ball into the net and passing to your partner. Using calculus, the launch angle and velocity of the ball, you can make predictions on where the final position of the ball will be and anticipate this by running to the spot to give yourself time to  make a good hit.</div>]]></description>
