Overall, I think the assessment was accurate in describing me. Some of my strengths were coach/mentor and inspirational leadership. I think these two qualities will help with becoming an effective leader. I also have a strength of a positive outlook. I do tend to look for the good in everyone and feel everything is peaceful in the work environment. This obviously is not the case all the time. I need to be more aware and understand when people are being negative and bringing the climate down. I try to stay positive and have fun with students and colleagues. One of my lows was emotional self-control. I feel I am impulsive to a certain point, but do not lose control of my emotions very often. At least, I thought I do not act this way! Overall, I am happy with the results and the results encourages me to work on some emotions I normally would think I do a good job with and keep improving my strengths.

Emotional self-awareness and emotional self-control were my strenghts. I also scored high on positive outlook which is something I try to maintain. The results did show me that I need to make a concentrated effort to let others know my thoughts and opinions. Expressing my ideas and opinions to others will be vital in a leadership role and it's something that I must improve.

My strengths included emotional self awareness, adaptability and influence. These are strengths that I feel like my current administrator has recognized by ways he is using me in leadership opportunities throughout our building. One of my lowest scores was in systems thinking. I feel as though this low score could be the result of being a classroom teacher in which I have a group of students that are "mine." Sometimes, this blinds me to other views on how what happens in my classroom or with my student schedule affects others in our building. This is a mindset that we have to get away from. My students are not just "mine." As a parent, I never want my child to be limited to the sole responsibility of his classroom teacher. We are a community of people who need to work together for the betterment of student experiences while they're with us. Empathy is another area I scored a "sometimes" in. I need to be better about seeing things through another's perspective. I feel as though some of this comes from my immediate concern being for those in my classroom and not necessarily keeping the "good of the community" at the forefront of my brain.

I scored highest on teamwork, under the relationship management cluster. I have had a lot of experience in this area and feel strongly about my ability to work in a team. I believe my lack of experience in some of the other areas explain my lower scores. My lowest score was pattern recognition, under the cognitive cluster. I definitely believe that as I take on more leadership roles, I will be working to improve all of these competencies. I believe that teamwork is a very good starting point, especially with the push of PLCs and working with others in my building.
