In the dark shadowed depth of Aceh’s hills,

As the conflict gives us obvious signs,

“BANG!” guns firing more as it gains more kills.

Allies of freedom moved like rivers wides,

Cries of innocent souls throughout the night,

Through the deep valleys as the dead soul guides,

Hills of Aceh, where no one is in sight.

Yet democracy seems a distant stars,

Negotiation makes conflict dismiss,

And the new order brought fire, leaving scars,

The dead bodies fade into the abyss.
