Culture effects me through the way I live and act on a daily basis. Some aspects of culture like food and language effect the visual side of my culture, creating how i live. But aspects of culture like expectations and norms build the way I act at home, around other people, and the way I act with myself.

My culture shapes the way view things because I am taught to respect older and younger people and also if you see anyone one the street, you should greet them. (Assalamualaikum) My culture impacts me quite intensely because even what I decide to draw I connect to what I'm allowed to.

Culture shapes my identity in some ways. Since I live in the United States, how I learn about my culture is when I'm talking with my parents (in Korean). However, I don't celebrate Korean holidays or follow the lunar calendar. American culture shapes my identity too because I celebrate holidays here, speak English, and see many American points of view.

To me, my culture shapes my identity about halfway, I guess. Or more. I have my own things that I like and do and want to do. My culture has me do other things, whether I like it or not. But still, it is a part of me that probably won't go away.

Let's say you travel to one country to another, and you are so used to be living there and their customs. Maybe those customs you're so used to aren't allowed or approved or seen as disrespectful, then you might have to change how or what you do.

I am an individualist, but I'm in a lot of sub-cultures and things that aren't official cultures but that impact me majorly. I'm unaffected by the majority of cultures I've been put into other than the stuff in the upper part of the iceberg. The reason for this is because I barely keep in touch with my extended family in general, and they're the ones who are more connected to culture. My parents care about their culture but they don't really engage in it, or at least not with me. In general, I'm apathetic about culture and generally connect with Americanized cultures and subcultures that are of no particular making.

Aspects of culture like language, beliefs, and where my parents are from holds a part of my culture but I am really on my own path that has my own way of life. :)
