While fasting for a day or two is rarely a problem if you are healthy, "it can be quite dangerous if you are not already eating a healthy diet, or if you've got liver or kidney problems, any kind of compromised immune system functioning, or are on medication 
Generally, it appears as though humans can survive without any food for 30-40 days, as long as they are properly hydrated. Severe symptoms of starvation begin around 35-40 days, and as highlighted by the hunger strikers of the Maze Prison in Belfast in the 1980s, death can occur at around 45 to 61 days.
Is it OK to fast with water?
This is definitely not advisable, as it's very dangerous to go for more than a day or so without drinking. Water fasting means drinking only water, but consuming no calories during the fast. Another technique is juice fasting, or consuming only fruit and vegetable juices.

The image of a “bum” in tattered clothes, yelling senselessly and wheeling his shopping cart represents the homeless exists in movies and television shows, and has come to be what’s accepted as accurate. The majority of people assume a variety of things about the homeless: they’re addicts, they’re lawbreakers, they’re lazy, they’re crazy and they chose to live that way.
These beliefs fuel the marginalization of the homeless population from society. In addition, they’re inaccurate assumptions that stem from broad generalizations.

The human body needs food and water to survive. A humancan go for more than three weeks without food (Mahatma Gandhi survived 21 days of complete starvation), but water is a different story. At least 60% of the adult body is made of it and every living cell in the body needs it to keep functioning.
