Luna looked very much like her father, who was sitting next to her, trying to teach her how to play wizard chess.

                    "So, the pawn can move one-"

                    "Dad, when one piece takes another piece, does the piece taking the other piece kill the piece it's taking or does the piece just go unconscious? Either way that was really mean of the taker piece."

                    "...What? I have no idea what you just said, Luna. Can you let me finish now?"

                    "Alright,"said Luna.

                    "Now, the pawn can move one space forward each turn. If there is another piece directly diagonal it, the pawn can move one space diagonally to take it. The king-"

                    "Dad, why do the pawns only get to move one space? All pieces should have equal rights!"

                    "That's what we tell everyone." Said one of the pawns on Harry's side of the board.

                    "Shut up, you" Harry said to the pawn.

                    "Harry," Luna's mother had just come into the back yard "What are you too doing out here?"

                    "Well I was trying to teach Luna how to play chess, but it proves an impossible task," He glared at Luna. "So I think I'll go inside and have some tea."

                    Harry stood up, walked past his wife, and went inside the house.

                    "Alright, Luna, don't forget that tomorrow is your father's birthday and he's been having some rough days at the ministry lately. So, what you getting him?"

                    "I'm making him a card. What about James and Al? Where are they anyway?"

                    "Wonderful day out isn't it, little sis?" said James Potter who had just come outside, followed by his brother. He turned to their mother "It's dad's birthday tomorrow, isn't it, Mum?"

                    "Yes. What are you getting him?"

                    "Me and Al are getting him a present together, but you don't need to know what it is yet."

                    "Why not?" asked Luna.

                    "Err... I..." James ran inside pulling his brother, Albus, with him.

                    "Get back here!" Their mother called.

                    "Tomorrow's Dad's birthday," Luna said to herself" That's July thirty first,which means my birthday is in two days, August first!"...

                    "HAPPY BIRTHDAY LUNA!"

                    Luna awoke with a start. Aunt Hermione, uncle Ron, her father, her mother, and her two brothers were standing around her bed. 

                    "You're eleven, sis!"

                    "What?" Luna said groggily

                    Luna's father pulled her blanket off her.

                    "You're eleven!"

                    "I'm elven?" 

                    "YOU'RE ELEVEN!" everyone yelled.

                    "What! Really?" Luna was very excited. "Why didn't you say so?"

                    Luna jumped up and ran out the room screaming "I'm eleven!"

                    "Luna where are you going?" her mother called.

                    "Err...dunno," Luna walked back into to the room.

                    "We're going to have breakfast, then you can open your presents, alright?"

                    Luna ate breakfast as fast as she could and ran into the sitting room, where she found a small mountain of presents.

                    "Ready?" Luna's dad asked as he moved into the room.

                    "Yeah!"

                    She waited before everyone was seated before ripping open her first present.

                    Her mother had made her a beautiful card, the Weasleys had gotten her a box of chocolate frogs, and Albus had gotten her a book called Quidditch through the Ages and James' present was a pair of extendable ears. 

                    "Last pair ever made. I reckon they're illegal now. No need to thank me." James looked at Luna as thought he wanted her to thank him.
                    "Thanks, James"

                    Luna was on her last present now, her father's. She shook the parcel. There seemed to be some kind of clothing in it. She very slowly unwrapped it. Inside sat a silver, flowing invisibility cloak.

                    "Wow, Dad!"...

                             Luna shook her head and the girl sat down opposite her. She glanced at Luna then looked quickly out the window pretending she hadn't looked.

                             The compartment door slid open again. It was the two twin girls she had seen on the platform.

                            " Hey, Jenny," one of them said. The short, freckly girl looked around at them. " We're gonna go up to the front of the train. Alexa Tawn's got a giant tarantula up there!"

                            " Yeah, okay." the freckly girl said.

                            " Lily, did we properly introduce ourselves yet? I'm Mia and this is Amy" She tilted her head to the other twin, " And this is our little sister Jenny. Anyways, bye!" 

                            They turned and left.

                            " Is it really true that your Lily Potter?" Jenny blurted out.

                            " Yeah. But I prefer my middle name, Luna" Luna replied.

                            " Oh well- I thought it might have been one of Mia and Amy's jokes..." Jenny muttered, " And is it really true that you've got the- you know, the-"

                            Luna pulled back her long black hair to reveal the crescent moon scar.

                            "Woah..."

                            " We've told you there are no rats in this compartment!" Jenny said.

                            "I wasn't looking for a rat." said a cold voice behind them that sounded strangely familiar to Luna.
                            Luna and Jenny turned around and found a tall, thin boy standing in the doorway. Behind him was another...humongous boy. Luna goggled at the humongous boy for a second or two before turning to the boy in front and saying,

                            "Who are you?"

                            "Excuse me?"the boy said.

                            "She asked who you are." jenny said loudly as though talking to a deaf person.

                            "Mortemus King," He said glaring at Jenny. He turned back to Luna,"Don't you remember me?" at Luna confused look, he added, "Oh, you would remember me as Mortemus Malfoy."

                            Luna remembered him now.
