Alex Bessell was jailed for two years after committing thousands of crimes that involved hacking computers. He also committed an offence with money laundering. His home was raided by the police and found computers he had taken control of and put viruses on. “ Aiobuy ” was the name of his own business that he created on parts of the web that no one can find. Alex was sentenced at court on the 4

^th of December. To get profits he used a legitimate business which meant his illegal activity could not be traced.

In December 2013 it was estimated that there were 36,000 organised criminals in 5,300 groups affecting the UK.

A famous instance of organised crime is with Jeffery Epstein, who was a former billionaire financier was convicted of sex trafficking a minor as well as his assistant Ghislaine Maxwell who was found also guilty of sex trafficking as she was found assisting Epstein by recruiting young girls to be flown to his mansions or island.

Sex trafficking is the action or practice of illegally transporting people from one country or area to another for sexual exploitation. This is what Epstein did by getting his assistant to find teenage girls and having them trafficked to ‘Epstein island’ or one of his property’s for sexual exploitation.

Epstein had many connections with extremely famous and influential people such as Donald Trump, prince Andrew and Bill Clinton and was known as a energetic and social man.

Eventually a teenage girls parents phoned the police of what had happened to their daughter with the police then finding photos of this girl in Epstein’s mansion in New York and Epstein was charged and arrested. In 2019 however, Epstein was found dead in his prison cell.

Although she was interviewed by police several times, Clare’s pleas for help went unheeded and her burnt body was discovered at her home in Salford in February 2009. Appleton had raped Clare, and then strangled her to death before setting her body alight.

A police man-hunt for Appleton ensued, but after 5 days he was found hanged in a derelict pub, escaping justice.  After years of hard work, a group of campaigners – this included Clare’s father, politicians and journalists – successfully launched Clare’s Law, a renewed version of a national scheme that allows people to find out if their partners have a history of violence.

The programme contains exclusive interviews with Clare’s father, Home Secretary Theresa May and journalists and police officers instrumental in changing the law to give domestic violence sufferers ‘the right to know’.

On March 12, 2009, Madoff pleaded guilty to 11 federal felonies, including securities fraud, wire fraud, mail fraud, money laundering, making false statements, perjury, theft from an employee benefit plan, and making false filings with the SEC. He was sentenced to 150years in prison and died in North Carolina after chronic kidney disease. 

Apart from occasional, and dreaded, hospital admissions, life for her rarely stretched beyond the four walls of her bedroom at the family bungalow in Stonegate, near Heathfield, East Sussex.
