Have the first year teachers in the room during this conversation so they can see the complaints and if the complaints are their doing they can fix these mistakes.

For staff: assume no ill will of colleagues; if you see a staff is struggling, ask if they need help; no judgement but rather, "what do you need, how can I help?"

Have students complete an "all about me" form at the beginning of the year/semester to get to know how they wish for you to communicate with them AND their parents/guardians.

Offer Teacher breaks somehow when the class becomes overwhelming from a student that upsets us. A time out in a sense!! Sometimes we need to leave to take a deep breath.

possibly create a way for staff to report issues through the use of a link- where the issue shows up publicly, but the reporter name remains anonymous to anyone using the form (except for Admin.)....It is difficult to catch Admin. during our planning times, due to what they are handling throughout the day and this would be a great way to report things that were discussed in today's training.

As a school we need to be more transparent. Teaching is a profession that educators need to conduct themselves professionally each day (conversations, dress, and quality of work). Students must understand with every inappropriate action there are consequences.

sensitivity to students: create connections; build relationships; say, "hello!" "so glad you are here today!" Students cannot learn in a heightened environment, or when they are yelled at --their amygydalas (sp?) get shocked and then they will not be in stable functioning/learning brain not engaged. When things get difficult, pause the conversation, get support and follow up with student once you have a clear plan of what you can do to support/discipline student.

Having an open forum with students by different grade levels. Allowing students to be aware of consequences to their actions, and asking for their input to make Lindale Middle a better place for learning and a school for them to be proud of academically. Let colleagues be aware of the concerns and work together with the students and administrators

for better results.

Send ALL our students who need more attention to Mrs. Eaton's room B133.

Provide more opportunities to interact and get to know people. This can be done through staff only get togethers, teacher/student activities, community outreach projects- experiences that aren't always academic or strictly professional.
