Giving
"You not the only one who's got wants and needs. But I held on to you, Troy. I took all my feelings, my wants, my needs, my dreams... and I buried them inside you". Rose is portrayed as very giving. She is so devoted to her family that she gives up everything she has. She puts everyone else first before second guessing herself. Rose is a prime example of someone who truly loves their family with everything they've got.

Relativistic
"What about me? When's my time to enjoy life". I chose this quote to go with relativistic because Rose tries to put Troy in perspective. Troy goes out and does what he wants and doesn't hesitate. Rose is fed up and tries to make Troy see how she feels. Rose makes people take a look at her life rather than just their own and I admire her for that.

I feel very connected to Rose. As the same for my family, I care the most for my younger family members, like a mother. I always put everyone first and in the long run, there's always an unexpected outcome. We also have similar weaknesses such as being too forgiving.

This is a painting titled "The Concert Singer" by Thomas Eakins that I learned about in art class. I chose this painting because it symbolizes the very little power Rose had as being a black woman. The subject of the painting is the mans hand in the bottom left corner because back then, women had little power and couldn't be the subject of really anything. Rose, after being cheated on and not being the happiest, couldn't leave her relationship and life because that is all she had.

These lyrics perfectly describe Rose and her relationship with Troy. Rose has given Troy everything he has ever wanted as a wife, a mother, etc.. Troy took advantage of her kindness. If only Troy knew how it feels to be a mother, a wife, and a woman, he would understand. Now after Rose being cheated on, she still sticks around even though on the inside she is destroyed.

The theme of Fences is to live your dream. Doubt, discourage, and obstacles are spread throughout this play. While facing reality and taking real life into consideration, dreams are always achievable. They may be hard or they may be easy. But, the main idea of this play is to never give up your hopes and dreams.

Her motto would be "never settle for less". Rose puts up with being completely dragged through the mud when the reader can tell that she's better than that. She bites her tongue and keeps her mouth shut rather than speaking her mind and making an impact. Rose is a strong girl and she should never settle for anything less.
