Haloo, my name is Hanie Grace Taguiam, I am 17 years old, turning 18 this November 8. I am an only child of my mother, while on my father's side, I have half-siblings.

I was born and raised in General Santos City (GenSan), but my mami and I moved to Davao because of her work. She was the one who raised me, all by herself. She was my father and mother at the same time.

In my family, they call me "donya" because of my ladylike personality. They told me stories that when I was a kid, I used to get what I wanted, and how girly I was. Until this day, too! But as I grew up, I learned to be humble and generous and be thankful for what I received.

1.) When I was a kid, I was such a "maldita" child. My tita told me that I didn't have only 2 yayas quit the job, but more than 10 yayas left the job because of my attitude, huhu. My mami told me that when my yaya was giving me a bath, I ran outside the bathroom and started running around the house naked, hehe.

2.) When I was about 6-7 years old, in every event at my old school, I would participate in dance intermissions. I have always loved dancing since I was a kid. I have always self learn myself some K-pop dances.

According to my results in MBTI, I am an ENFP-T. I was shocked at first because my MBTI had changed after 2 years of not taking the test. I always get ISFP-T in 2021-2023. Yes, I do agree with the results. I am a very approachable person despite my face looking like I’m not approachable. I am also a very caring person; most of the people I know told me that I’m caring. Most of my friends say that I am a social butterfly because I know a lot of people, and I think the same thing. Yes, I tend to misinterpret everything and frequently assume deeper meanings behind others’ behaviors. Furthermore, I do love exploring new ideas to have a new, fresh perspective in life.

I read that I am emotionally expressive, well, that is not true. I don’t tell what’s wrong or what’s bothering me, because I prefer to bottle up my feelings. But sometimes I do tell what I am feeling, just rarely.

And yes, it is true that I have less self-confidence and less emotional control, but I am working on that weakness.

Over the past few days, I have been overwhelmed by the amount of schoolwork. I struggle to sleep early because of my heavy workload. Each new deadline adds to the pressure, making it hard to have breaks. As I am in my last year of senior high school, I feel even more pressured to show my best, leading to higher expectations for myself. To cope, I find listening to music, exercising, and playing with my dog very helpful in managing stress and finding balance.

Looking at my results, I'm pretty good at knowing myself and understanding others. But I could use some work on managing my reactions and building better connections. When I encounter conflict, I try to respond by staying calm and understanding why they're upset. Although there was a time when my friend and I had a misunderstanding over something. At that time, I realized that I was being insensitive during our conversation. I then did not talk to my friend for a few hours, but I messaged them how sorry I am, and explained my side of the story.

At this point in my life, I depended entirely on my family's support. Even though I don't remember much, I know I was surrounded by love and care, and my first ever early caregiver was my Mother.

Toddler Years/Early Childhood

As a toddler, I started exploring independence by walking and speaking simple words. Each small achievement filled me with pride, and I started to figure out how to accomplish tasks by myself. This was the time where I ran naked around the house, hehe.

Elementary School Years/School Age

During my elementary years, I enjoyed dancing on stage, loved to play dress-up with my friends, and imagined stories. I enjoyed trying new activities and felt happy when I saw food.

Preschool

Adolescence

During my adolescence, I began to discover my true self. The experiences I went through, the friendships I formed, and the challenges I faced all contributed to shaping my character, beliefs, and aspirations for the future. I began to love make-ups, K-pop, travelling, and many more.

Reflection:

Looking back, I realize how each stage of life shaped me. Infancy taught me trust, childhood gave me independence and imagination, and adolescence helped me build my identity. Each stage has equipped me for the person I am evolving into now.

The people and my dog in the picture—Jesus Christ, my family, friends, and classmates—are special to me because they make me feel loved, supported, and understood; they have taught me self-love, emotional control, and the value of learning from struggles, and through our intimate and companionate relationship, they bring me joy, comfort, and motivation, influencing me to grow, become stronger, and become the best version of myself.

1.) Personal Development was significant as it enabled me to get myself at an in-depth level. The lessons helped me realize my strengths, weaknesses, thoughts and feelings. It assisted me in identifying the sections of my life in which I should make improvements as well as the practices that I should alter. This topic also made me think about my values and goals as well as made me more confident and in touch with myself.

2.) A primary lesson that I have learnt is that self-awareness is critical when making better decisions about my future. I also got to know how to be more responsible with my emotions in addition to handling challenging circumstances. The topic made me understand that relationships, communication, and personal development are all related to my overall well-being. Most importantly, I was able to learn that the personal development is the process that should be continuously worked on throughout my life.

3.) Personal and Social Relationships, and Mental Health and Well-being were my two favorite subjects. My favorite course was Personal and Social Relationships as it taught me how to establish more healthy relationships with other people and be able to communicate more effectively. It has helped me to learn that trust is important, so is respect and boundaries in relationships. Another course that I liked was Mental Health and Well-being, as it demonstrated the significance of paying attention to my emotional and psychological well-being. Both issues were relevant and enabled me to use what was being taught to real-life scenarios.
