our brains can be tricked by optical illusions, showing how subjective and malleable our sense of reality can be. EXAMPLE -Two lines of equal length are displayed in this well-known optical illusion, but the arrows at the ends make one look longer than the other. Arrows on one line point inward, while those on the other line point outward. The line with arrows going outward appears longer even if the lines are the same length. This demonstrates how visual signals from the environment may deceive our brain into making inaccurate size judgments.
