So little money goes to the kids in the ivory coast because the major companies like Mars and Hershey's buy chocolate cheap so that they make a larger profit. This leaves the workers in Ghana and the ivory coast with only a little money.

Child Labor has been occurring fo rthat past 10 years so far...has the problem of child labor escalated or decreased? It has decrased. From 2000 to 2012 the number of children enforced in child labor has gone down from 250,000 to 170,000 children.

They held back their crops to protest being paid such low amounts. In West Africa, they produce 40% of the worlds cocoa beans, but don't get a fair amount of money. The workers did not like this, so they decided to go on strike.
