In my NHS role I am the Clinical Lead for a team resettling high risk of harm offenders with personality difficulties on release from custody. This is part of a partnership between NHS and Probation nationwide.

In private practice I work with adults with a range of presentations, but specialise in working with complex trauma and dissociative disorders, and provide clinical supervision. I am also EMDR trained.

Ok, so I qualified as a clinical psychologist in 2006 and CAT practitioner in 2011.  Since beginning working in the world of therapy, I have worked initially in psychology departments and community mental health services before taking a change in direction towards working with people with long term physical health conditions.  I then made a slight detour into the world of neuropsychology whilst working with people with neurological conditions and completed the applied neuropsychology post grad at this time.  This detour into the brain happily brought me back to the body, with a desire to integrate my learning from neuroscience, neurophysiology and neuroception into my therapy practice in a more 'embodied' reciprocal way.  All this happily led me back to Caroline, who I had first met during my CAT training days and her recent work on embodied reciprocal roles.    

Currently my clinical work involves working with individuals living with persistent pain and I am the consultant clinical psychologist and (interim) head of service for health psychology at Preston Hospital.  

I am also mum to Oban, and partner of Damien.  One of my greatest joys is walking amongst big old trees on quiet trails...followed by a good 'blether' over a glass of wine.  (For those of you not familiar with Scottish words - blether means 'talking in a long-winded way without making very much sense'; something you may come to realise I am very good at doing!
