How do you feel when you’re drunk?

-bold, stuttering, repeating things, have to move, tunnel vision, clumsy

Where do you feel it?

-In my Ls and Bs, cheeks, fingers, knees, chest


The Practice:

Round 1. Begin improvisational movement following your first impulse… just move allowing your body to do what it does. Think about similarities to drunkenness and intoxication-- the veil that falls that removes second guesses or forethought. Go with your flow and notice how you repeat, slow down, and where your mindfulness goes as you try and leave it behind.

Round 2. Actively ignore your 1st impulse. Continue movement but refuse to follow your first impulse and execute your second impulse. Think about what you might do or what you have done before, and choose the second option. Tie in intoxication. Find and play with that struggle between choosing not to act and the loss of self-control. 


Findings
Freedom, ecstasy, and pleasure in round 1. Careful with myself. Less repetition than round 2. Stuttering, freezing, getting stuck in round 2, thinking and not thinking and moving after not moving. Felt a warming up in my body and my mind.
