On page 209 of the intriguing book Allegiant, Tris finds a couple of tough questions while reading her deceased mothers aged diary. "What did you think would happen when I came here, that I would live single and alone forever? That I wouldn't get attached to anyone? That I wouldn't make any of my own choices?" These thoughtful questions that Tris's mother was asking herself and David made me wonder what she thought David expected her to do. Maybe now that David was mad at her for falling in love made her question if David ever said or implied that she was not to do so. Also, I think she was frustrated with David for getting mad over a small thing and not making his rules more clear.
The picture below is a symbol of the importance of Tris's mothers letters because they could contain important information and they are the last thing Tris has of her mother.

On page 306 Tris is having a tough question because when Tobias betrayed her she went to talk to him, but didn't break up with him. Now, she is asking herself why she couldn't bring herself to break up with him. "I didn't tell him it was the end of our relationship. I meant to, but when I was looking at him, the words were impossible to say." This may effect the story because if she didn't break up with Tobias this might leave bad impressions with her friends and they might not want to be friends with her anymore because their still together. Also, I think she's asking this hard question because deep down, I think she still has feelings for him and wants to give him a second chance, contrasting what others might think of that choice.

Title: Meet the 11-year-old science whiz who invented water-testing device

"In many ways, Gitanjali Rao is a typical 11-year-old. She's lively, chatty and often smiling. Yet, she can also talk easily about carbon nanotubes and Arduino processors."
This text is a compare and contrast signpost. It first compares how she is like most 11-year-olds because she's chatty, lively, and often smiling. But then, they go onto saying how she is different than most 11-year-olds because she is extremely smart and can talk about things most kids her age havent even heard of.

On page 314, I found a character trait of one of the characters. The character was Marcus who is Tobias's father, and the character Tobias is not fond of at all because of his father's abusiveness. The character trait I found for Marcus is deceiving. He is deceiving many times in the story because to Tobias and his wife he is very abusive and disciplining. But, to the public he acts like a very smart leader and he deceives most people into believing that. "I see in him a man who divides himself into compartments and can switch between then on command. One of those compartments was reserved only for my mother and me." This shows he is very deceiving because to the public he chooses to show a calm person, but at home he is terrifying to his family.
