This week was a total success!
We first made sure that every classroom had a pet container.
We then divided our team into two groups. One group, consisting of Carolina, Maria and Vanesa, went to all classrooms again, but this time, collecting all bottles in a big trash bag.
To our surprise, all the pet boxes in the classrooms and in the school's garden were full! After gathering all the bottles in the trash bag, we separated the bottle caps and gave all of them to the second group of our team.
The second team consisted of Alejandra and Kiel who spend their efforts counting all the bottle caps. There were so many that we needed to stop counting. We counted 1, 800 bottle caps! And there are still plenty to keep counting.
Unfortunately, Emilio wasn't here, but he helped wonderfully with our website and planning out next keep's plans.
The last thing we did is asking Miss Ana for a number so we could contact someone from the ReQpet administration. We talked with Jessica Canul who kindly explained why ReQpet hadn't come to IAS to collect all our pet. They were having some problems with their buss and they would gladly be here next week.

This was the first week that the ReQpet Company came to the school and picked up our stacks of bottles. They came on Monday the 11th. The amount of bottles was calculated to 65kg.
The team divided again into the same groups, but now, we switched jobs. We all continued to collect bottles from the cafeteria and classrooms, plus counting the bottle caps. We are waiting to have 5,000 bottle caps to go and leave them at the place where we are supposed to. And we are super close to have 5,000 bottle caps! That means that this Saturday we are going to have helped 5 people get Chemotherapy as well as of course helping the environment, and we are extremely excited about it!

Week 3 has been a total success. Within only 45 minutes we were able to collect a total of 1,830 bottle caps! This was possible thanks to setting a proper and efficient plan. Emilio and Kiel brought in the bottles from the garbage bags next to the school security, and Alejandra and Carolina brought in bottles from classrooms. Once all the bottles were gathered, Alejandra and Gaby helped separated useful and useless bottle caps as well as counting them. Emilio and María helped remove caps from their bottles as well as counting them. Carolina and Kiel helped empty the bottles, step on them to flatten them out, and put them in their corresponding bags. Vanesa was not able to come due to religious reasons, but she has been extremely helpful with the making of this padlet and at planning out next week's goal. We are extremely excited that the cap count keeps going up and plan on promoting our cause even more!

This week we summed all the number of bottle caps from every previous week counts and we ended up having 5,500 bottle caps! We believe this is an amazing number because in only three weeks of following an effective system and counting we were able to recicle a lot, as well as five Chemotherapy plus 500 bottle caps more. Emilio, Maria, and Vanesa took the bottle caps out of Ms. Ana's classroom, and placed them in the car to able to take them to a center place for the Banco de Tapitas project. Vanesa took the bottle caps to town hall and gave them to one of the woman involved in the project. She was extremely happy and thanked us a lot.
Kiel and Alejandra collected all the bottles form the first floor (cafeteria and backyard).
Carolina and Emilio collected the bottles from the classrooms in the second floor, and Maria and Vanesa collected the bottle caps form the classrooms in the third floor. The bottles were placed all together for us first thing next week to count the bottle caps and get them ready for ReQpet people to come and take them.

This week was another great week. We worked on the same things: collecting bottles from cafeteria, patio and classroom plus continue counting the bottle caps. The ReQpet company came to school this Tuesday the 3rd. They picked up our stacks of bottles, and the amount of bottles was calculated to 74kg. Although we are very happy that the school in now taking the time to recicle and that people are no more awarethzt they should recicle and think about the environment more, the main goal is to reach a more sustainable living. This means that we should actually use plastic at the minimum scale possible. So we took Ms. Ana's advice and all the ReQpet team is thinking in new ways that the school could decrease the amount of plastic and bottles all students and teachers produce.

We continued counting the bottle caps and all number of bottle caps are kept safe so that the count id not lost and so it is precise. We have 400 bottle caps counted since the last time we took the bottle caps to Banco de Tapitas. We collected the bottles from every classroom and the school's yard and cafeteria like always, but this time we did something a little extra. Once we have picked the bottles we are smashing and crushing the bottles so they take less space. Everyone in the team did a great job and we will continue doing so every week.

We couldn't get the note saying the amount of bottles in kg they took like the other few times because Ms. Denise was absent and pretty occupied that day. We will ask her first hour next week to allow us to take the normal picture of our school points. We counted more bottle caps and more plastic bottles were added for the ReQpet team to pick up as all weeks! We are all happy progress is being made and even though it sometimes seems like a lot of work we remember that this hard work is for the benefit of everyone so we enjoy doing it.

Each new day that we spend our time in working on this amazing project it is easier because we all know and understand that we have to work together and that everything that we do makes a difference. All the smashed bottles are placed inside the ReQpet container until the container is completely full. When this storage box is completely filled with bottles then that's when bags of bottles are placed a side of the container. We have 860 bottle caps counted and we haven't even counted all the ones that are in CES, which we'll do first thing next time.

We also love that they are not dispensable gloves which means less waste in the world! We made sure that the bottle trash cans were empty, and continue counting the bottle caps.
We went and talked to CES about all the bottle caps that they had with the purpose of counting them too, since we are all a school. CES told us that they were going to keep them and a personal from Banco de Tapitas was coming to get them. We asked why and they explained that they want little children to begin to see how they can help our planet. We were sad that we were not able to count them, but at the same time we agree that is important to create awareness from an early age.

This padlet will cover the work we did on weeks 10 and 11. We picked up the bottles and counted all the bottle caps as always. Last week the school hosted it's yearly MUN conference and we saw that a lot of plastic bottles were being used and were being thrown into normal trash cans. As soon as this happened, we announced that we had special containers for them. This is something good, not only because we are recycling the biggest amount of pet that we can, but because when Ms. Nancy heard what we said she later told the Secretariat class that it was good to consider for next year's conference to don't use plastic bottles and plastic plates! It was clear to us that what we are doing does make a good impact and we love it. The number of bottle caps we counted last week was 760 bottle caps, and we counted 540 bottle caps this week.

We enjoyed and had a lot of fun in it, but it was time to go back to basics and work on helping our planet. The bottle cap counting continued, and only from one week, we counted 1,100 bottle caps! If we add this count with the previous ones (2550 + 1100), we had now 3,650 bottle caps. Only 1350 left and we will give Banco de Tapitas another 5,000 bottle caps, which means 5 Chemotherapys! We emptied all the ReQpet containers in school once again as well.

This paddle will take about the last week of school and the fist one since winter break. The first week of January was one of the most calm weeks of them all. This was because we did a great job in the last week of school before our break, and since no one was attending school in winter break there where not a lot of bottles to collect and of bottle caps to count. The last week of December we did the regular and productive routine. But not because there were less bottles to collect, as our padlet quote says, "Every bottle counts"!!! So it was good to go back to our team routine and keep recollecting and recycling the pet in our school. Also a lot of bottle caps are ready to be taken to el Banco de Tapitas next week

This week the ReQpet team was not complete due to the fact that Emilio and Vanesa are currently in Guadalajara in an M.U.N. Conference. Nevertheless, Maria, Carolina, Kiel, Gabrielle, and Alejandra made sure everything in school was taken care off. In order for Emilio, and Vanesa to also help with this week's work we made sure that they sent us a picture of their work, and also how many bottle caps they collected so we could create this padlet and contribute like every week. They counted 117 bottle caps to the total number collected. When we come back I will ask the school for a picture of how many kg the ReQpet company picked up so all of you readers know. Also next Friday will be a perfect they to give to the Banco de tapitas de bottle caps since there is no school and they normally close at 3. Until next week!

It was a normal week for the ReQpet team. We did our normal pick up and counted the bottle caps. An extra thing we did this week was also to remained students about the pet containers in every classroom and two big ones outside in the backyard. We did this because it seems that some people have forgotten about them. As a result, the cleaning staff and the cleaning ladies at school had to spend extra time picking the bottles from normal trash cans and placing them in the pet containers. That is why we told the students to stop doing so, not only because it is important to do the most in helping the environment but also to don't add more responsibilities to the cleaning ladies since they do more than enough already. The Banco de Tapitas staff was not in the same place as last time, but they said that Saturdays they do go to el municipio, so tomorrow we will go again and give all the bottle caps for the second time!

Our team had a busy and fast week. We were starting to collect the bottles when Ms. Ana told us that the ReQpet company truck was actually picking the school's bottles right that second. So we tried to collect them as fast as possible, but the ReQpet company truck left to quickly. The bottles we collected today will be counted for the next time they come. Another thing that happened this week, was that we not only counted the normal bottle caps from the school's bottles but also Ms. Ana and another teachers brought a lot of bottle caps from their homes. We counted 1705 bottles caps only this week! Which means that in total we have 5,472!! Banco de Tapitas here we come...

This week was a little different from others. We usually work the entire second period on this ecological project, but this week we had an important presentation that took a little longer than expected,s o the time to work on ReQpet was not that big. Wee are so glad that people he listened to us about the bottle caps because more people are bringing the bottles caps from their homes and neighborhood. We started counting them, and we added to then count 359 bottle caps. We emptied the bottle trashes from every classroom in school but we didn't get to finish the big containers from the school's yard. We will definitely finish everything, and get back in track next week. As it is seen in the picture, we love to do our work and help the environment, but the hard work and smell is regularly tough!

The first time that we gave 5,5000 bottle caps to the banco de tapitas was in the town hall. But they told me that they were not there anymore. So we discovered that a place were we could take them was Piesalia. Located aside Innovasport and Bandoneon. This second time we gave them 5,600 bottle caps. So in total we gave given 11,100 bottles caps! That means 11 chemotherapies!!! The man who received them was very excited, happy, and he thanked us a lot.

As they collected and crashed all the bottles, they separated the bottle caps to pass them all to Vanesa. Emilio and Maria were in charge of all the bottles from then classrooms of the second floor. They also separated the bottle caps to give them to Vanesa. Carolina recollected the bottles from the third floor. Meanwhile everyone was collecting the bottles, Vanesa was cleaning and counting all the bottles caps that people bring to school from their homes and a bunch more that we started counting last week. When the other teammates finished Vanesa continues to count the bottle caps that were collected from that day. People have also started to bring other things bad out of pet. Not only plastic bottles or bottle caps, but also fruit containers made out of plastic, such as the ones used for strawberries and blueberries.

She was not in school, so we organized ourselves to finish all the work without a member of the group. Ale, Gabrielle and Kiel remained with the big containers in the school's yard, and counted some bottle caps as well. Carolina remained in charge of the third floor. Emilio and Vanesa took care of all the second floor classrooms plus both counted the bottle caps. We have 3,545 bottle caps counted and ready in the car so that they don't take a to of space in the classroom. Last week there were 3545 bottle caps, but after Vanesa counted 1751 bottle caps only today we have 4296. We were really exited that people are participating (like you can see in the picture), but at the same time it's shocking to think about the amount of plastic and bottles people use and that could replace for other materials that contaminate less. There were many bottles in all floors, and the rest of the team (Emilio, Carolina, Maria, Kiel, Gabrielle, and Ale) made sure that all the bottles were picked up and placed on the ReQpet containers.

Today work was fast and fluid as usual. Alejandra, Kiel and Gaby did a wonderful job picking up the bottles from the two large containers in the first floor. Emilio and Vanesa took care of the bottles in the second floor. Finally, Maria and Caro picked up the bottles in the third floor. At the end of our bottle cap count, we counted a total of 106 caps. This made us realized that there were less bottles than usual, meaning that people are being more aware that bottles are damaging to our environment! This is exciting to us because it makes us realize that our work is paying off and that we are making an impact in our community, even if it's just our school. More people are bringing water containers instead of plastic bottles, which doesn't only make our job easier, but greatly improves the environment in our local ecosystem. We are excited to see how much less people use plastic bottles by the end of the school year! In this picture we can appreciate Alejandra hard at work!

Things went smoothly as usual this week. Even with Vanesa absent we managed to do a great good. Alejandra, Kiel and Gaby took care of the bottom floor and the third floor, while Emilio, María and Caro picked up on the second floor. Vanesa had to miss school due to family reasons, but she will be back soon. We counted a total of 259 caps for this week, which mean a lot of work had to be done!

This whole week of school was full with water. Not a single day passed by without it raining. This Thursday was pouring raining so our work was a little bit more complicated because of it. The big containers at the school's bottom floor could not be collected because it was raining like crazy. The second floor was done by Alejandra, Kiel, and Gabrielle. Emilio and Vanesa did the third floor. Maria helped in both floors. Carolina counted the bottle caps. We counted 1064 bottle caps.
As you can see in the picture, it was raining like crazy so an umbrella was needed to bring the collected bottles to the ReQpet containers.
