Can these technologies be used with Hospitality Apprentices?

Yes...
...Is the very simple answer!
There are many different ways in which these three technologies can be applied into work based learning Hospitality Apprenticeships. Each technology will have a different desired function and it's own part to play in delivering effective teaching and learning and this will be dependant on the learning styles, subject matter and style of delivery required.

How would I use Powtoon?

I would use Powtoons to create small "bite sized" video/audio animations that could be really useful with apprentices that are revising subject matter for testing. They allow for a fun and simple platform to review/recap information quickly and easily. These could also be used to provide quick updates to team members in the company and disseminate new information in a different format, rather than "another Email"

I would use Padlet to give apprentices and staff instant access to shared information that may cover a larger subject matter, knowledge for an entire Btec unit for example. Those with access to the padlet can add comments, information and collaboratively work on the subject matter in a live environment or to provide feedback during a training workshop.

I would use Office mix to deliver workshops and one to one training sessions on a remote basis through online sessions. This would be a really useful tool when training any subject matter. This would be more use in a group delivery situation, due the analytical additions that can be incorporated and feedback that can be provided by the tutor, to monitor the effectiveness of the session and skills check function.

Boundaries for use in my Organisation

Within my organisation there wouldn't necessarily be any formal boundaries for the use of either of the software options that I have explored, however, there would be specific rules that would need to be followed to ensure that safeguarding is followed and plagiarism legislation is adhered to. There also need to be a level of monitoring during live online Office Mix presentations and limited editing rights given to Padlet walls to ensure that there was no room for inappropriate comments and posting/feedback.
The final factor would be around cost implications as, particularly with Powtoon, the basic free software may not be entirely fit for purpose.
