Man in Magic Dust

The universe is vast, with hundreds of billions, or even countless, of galaxies, and hundreds of billions of planets in each galaxy, each orbiting its own star. Stars are the only celestial bodies that emit their own light. Their light shines so brightly and beautifully that planets compete to orbit them.

In this mysterious world, night is the best time for someone to gaze at the night sky to calm the mind from all the noise of the world. A woman sits on her balcony, accompanied by the cold night that touches her soft skin. Her gaze only glanced at the beauty of the sky filled with the moon and stars that night with her hand tightly holding a cup of warm tea.

Of the many stars shining in the silent night, she only saw the only star that seemed so dim. Lifting her head to look at the entire sky that was so bright that night. Curiosity haunted her, wondering how the only star that seemed so dim and calm could catch her attention. Every night after that night, she continued to spend her nights admiring that star. Her eyes always radiated a twinkle, her lips began to curve into a smile, and her face blushed spoiled every time she saw her star.

Until one night, she had a dream that felt so real. In her dream she woke up, immediately walking to the balcony of her room. Her hand slowly opened the curtain that covered the balcony door. She stepped out the door, her gaze not leaving the night sky. Thick fog covered the sky that night, only the moonlight was visible but not very bright. The wind blew hard, carrying fog and dust flying freely in the air. The wind that should have been cold when it touched her skin, instead felt warm- so damn warm. When she turned her body to the balcony chair, she saw the figure of a tall man sitting on the chair, staring at her. Their two pairs of beautiful eyes met, radiating confusion between each other. After a few minutes of staring at the mysterious man, she dared to take a step closer. The man suddenly stood up, making her stop her movements. She felt like retreating or perhaps turning around, but her curiosity about the man was too strong. Her steps stopped when the distance between them was close enough to see each other's faces clearly. The two pairs of obsidian eyes met again, but this time they were quite deep. His eyes may not be as deep as the ocean, but they are able to make her cold heart suddenly feel warm and start beating so fast. A nose that was so high and perfect, his alluring eyebrows, thick and luscious lips, even a few moles on the man's face complete the perfection of his face card.

“So gorgeous, insanely handsome, and so damn lethal,” she murmured softly, barely audible to him.

.

.

The man, his soul was blown away by a gust of wind from a place so far away. A place he didn't even know existed and perhaps would never be easily reached. A place so far away and full of wonders never heard of before. The wind brought his soul there for a reason. He fulfilled the dust pact with the creator, a pact he himself proposed with great sincerity. Thousands of years ago, his pure soul that radiated such a bright light, destroyed all corrupted souls. Making the stars jealous of him. Until finally, the creator lifted his soul to be offered to the star that had long lost its luster. His pure, newborn soul could do nothing but be forced to surrender. For years his soul was trapped inside, but he was truly reluctant to give up his beautiful shine to the star. Until one beautiful night, there was a woman who looked at him curiously. Her beautiful obsidian gaze slowly deepened, making him feel cared for. Several times he blinked his sparkle when the woman smiled at him. It had been a long time since he first flashed his sparkle, or maybe the second time since he was just born.

Feeling a freedom he had never felt before, he begged the Creator to grant him a chance to meet her. The ruler granted his request, but only in a dream. He tried to negotiate, but in vain. Realizing he had no control over his own soul, he agreed. Finally, the magic dust carried his soul on the wind to the only place he wanted to go. Meeting his woman, his gaze never left her.

.

.

Since their first meeting, not a word had escaped his lips. He simply stared intently at her beautiful obsidian, so intensely that she felt a surge of dopamine in his body, making his heart pound.

Time passed, and the two grew closer day by day. She never questioned the man's origins again after she felt that God had destined her to meet him. Her once empty world and her head filled with noise that even medication couldn't calm, now felt peaceful. Her usually gloomy face now radiated a long-lost smile. A mysterious and sweet man had managed to make her feel alive again. When a busy day hit her, he always waited for her to come home with a bright smile and hugged her tightly when she felt drained. The tall, sturdy man's sincere embrace made her feel so warm and comfortable.

Sometimes she would fall asleep on his lap while she read a book, her hair gently stroked by him. His smile never faded when he looked at her,as if they were deeply connected. And when their obsidian eyes met, a blush spread across their cheeks and the sparkle in their eyes betrayed their unwavering love.

“I looked into his eyes and saw my entire lost life,” she thought.

The breeze from the AC hitting her uncovered body made her lose the warmth she'd felt before. Her eyes darted around, looking for something she thought should be there. She tried to get out of bed and slowly walked back to her balcony door. Her right hand reached out, trying to grab the curtain covering the balcony door. The door opened, and she started to step outside, but this time the air was incredibly cold. She lifted her head to look at the night sky and blinked for a moment, feeling the gentle breeze that she hoped would warm her. She was so hopeful that tears accidentally rolled down her cheeks. When she opened her eyes, her hope was indeed gone. Only the night sky, filled with moonlight and stars, as usual. Her eyes found the star, but this time it flickered for a moment before fading away again. She smiled, tears still streaming down her face.

It felt like what she saw wasn't just a dim star, but a mysterious figure far greater than any star. Someone so far away, yet never far from her thoughts. Just as the moon always finds the stars, she would always find him in her thoughts, as if he had become a natural remedy for all the anxiety, panic, and madness in her life.

^jie ♡^

The night breeze obscures the broken souls. The starlight adores the only pure light of a soul alive tonight. The soul of a man who turns 26 today, making his light shine even brighter.

I'm one of those broken souls who never got to meet him, but I never stopped admiring him. Today, the remaining fragments of myself fly from afar, ensuring he truly shines, like a star. I pray for his happiness and everything that can make him happy. He deserves happiness, true happiness; true happiness. Happiness that can warm and soothe his heart.

I ask God to watch over and protect him throughout his life. Last word; Happy birthday to God's creature who shines more gloriously than the stars, Song Mingi ࣪ ִֶָ☾.
