He portrays it as superstitious, and useless. Throughout America, the teaching of religion is not allowed in public schools. However, these same schools can teach The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn, which criticizes and mocks Christianity. So, not only do schools, generally, stop students from learning about religions through them, but they also actively allow for the criticism of religions. Any student who is not exposed to religion outside of school, but is taught The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn, and the many books akin to it in terms of mocking religion, would likely be inclined to dismiss any religion as superstition and a waste of time, as portrayed by the book.
