Is it ethical to create a problem then ignore it?. the school has decided that rather then start construction during the school holidays or when there are less people having to park their cars at school such as after year 12s have left. This has lead to the car parks being closed off and an excess of cars on the public road.

Since we started at the school, we have been counting down the days until we were Year 12s, and part of that experience is now ruined. The school should support us by allowing access to parking spaces. Year 12 students, who are balancing heavy workloads and preparing for their futures, have earned this privilege through their hard work and dedication.

Have you ever had to walk minutes in the rain after getting completely ready for the school day? Us students experience this almost daily because the earlier this year, the student car park was banned for all students for more teacher carparks. As I write this, I can see numerous free car parks in the main carpark which all teachers use proving they do not need the extra spots, and if there were teachers who did find a car park they should park on the road, it means they were late anyway if there are no parks left. This has also led up to almost 100 cars parked out on the street in peak hour traffic and in front of local people’s houses.

Waiting your turn for privilege is nice right? A lot of this privilege many of us are unable to gain, all due to a factor some cannot comprehend. After spending hours upon hours, waking up, working, learning, stressing, grinding, going crazy in a span of 1000 days in school alone, just to repeat it all over again. It doesn’t seem fair that our efforts do not grant us our long-awaited parking space at Gleeson College. We need a call for change, a change that puts the next generations mentals at ease. Because, I do not deserve added weight; I do not deserve pressure more than I already have, I deserve peace and most importantly I deserve a place I can call serenity.
