]]> 2023-11-18 13:40:49 UTC https://padlet.com/pkoca110_/iz6buictl9j625bw/wish/2794780942 pkoca110_ https://padlet.com/pkoca110_/iz6buictl9j625bw/wish/2795439310 1- Today, as a morning activity, we learned how to do "my personal star" and "I am the only one" from GTKY activities and how to create instructions.  With teamwork, we created instructions for the my personal baklava activity and I took the role of the teacher and showed us how to implement it.  Each team prepared and presented ICQs types from GTKY activities.  Teamwork is very effective in terms of saving time and sharing ideas.  We did listening activities in the afternoon.  The "picture dictation" method is very impressive in terms of attracting students' attention and helping them to become active listeners.  The idea of ​​creating groups of similar objects that we made group matches with before creating the listening lesson plan was very fun because sitting all the time can be very boring.  Our team created a pre-while-post listening lesson plan for the 5th unit of 5th grade, Health.  It was an honor to be chosen first by receiving the most votes among the plans prepared by other teams.

2- I try to do coursebook listening activities in class, but I also prefer to do different listening activities.  I use songs a lot when teaching younger students.  To prevent children from forming prejudices against listening, I read the passage myself and ask them to answer the questions.  Because listening and speaking are intertwined skills.  We mostly use the listening tracks available on EBA in lessons.  While learning the words of a unit, we also watch the vocabulary videos prepared by teachers on youTube, therefore students can see pictures of words and easily learn how to pronounce them.

3- I would like to use "picture dictation", one of the techniques I learned today.  I have never used this method before and I think it will be fun for children and I think it will develop active listening and imagination for children.  When I leave here, I will use the "picture dictation" method in my first lesson.

]]> 2023-11-19 19:46:35 UTC https://padlet.com/pkoca110_/iz6buictl9j625bw/wish/2795439310 pkoca110_ https://padlet.com/pkoca110_/iz6buictl9j625bw/wish/2797403856 1- "Name and Same" activity is a very useful activity as a warm up.  I will use this activity in my lessons.  We can easily apply this activity for hobbies, abilities, sports, preferences etc.  The "Paper Slide" activity is a great activity when given as a student's individual learning or group work.  Especially for students who are afraid of speaking in front of their classmates, it gives them the chance to make their own drawings at home, record and present the visuals with their speech.  I will give this activity to my shy students as homework and ask them to present it on the smart board in class.  In the PDC lesson, our team prepared the Mediterranean region.  Each of us drew and introduced a feature.  We had a lot of fun while making it, I really think my students will like it, too.  The "Hidden words" activity we do in the afternoon is an activity where students will feel comfortable working in groups.  A very fun activity that can improve your speaking skills.

2- Today we learned many techniques that we can apply in speaking lessons.  It would be very convenient to show the picture to the class and talk about it or ask them to create a story about it.  The role play is technique that I will always use. Children create a dialogue about the topic and present it in class with their own pair.  I will use the Hidden words activity especially with my 7th grade students in the elective English class.  Since the number of these students is small, I will also use the mingle technique.

The video explaining the damage caused by man to nature today was truly impressive.  I am planning to show my students videos similar to this in the Save the Planet unit. Video dictation is an effective technique. We were divided into two groups, Group A and B.  Group A talked while watching the video, group B took notes and then talked about the notes they wrote.  I will implement this activity with my students at school.  This activity will develop children's 4 skills.  I have never heard of Sleeping Panda and Dolmuş Game activities before.  I loved both of them.  I will use both in my classes.  It is an activity that I can easily use in my brainstorming lessons with Wordcloud.
