He was determined to discover it and learn about it. Following the discovery, many good things came out of it. The city opened a new gate for trade which earned money.

One effect of colonization is introduction to new species and plants. This is positive effect because there are new ways to make food and to live longer and healthier. Another effect is depletion of the nutrients in the soil. This is a negative effect because the earth is getting more unhealthy with the more human life being here.
The last effect is diseases were spreading almost everywhere. This is a negative effect because the population was dying and there was no cure to help save people’s lives.
