Hiram BIngham had many reasons to discover. He was a man of respect and honor. He was a member of the United States senate and was fully educated. He was motivated by glory as a starter, and the money that came with the discoveries was just a bonus. Bingham went out to discover "The Lost City of Incas".

Many effects came out of the amazing discovery. A large amount of natural and cultural attraction was found and new ideas for architecture were considered for future cities. These are so crucial for the fact that they changed the way people lived. New animals were discovered, bred and traded. New foods were made and sold. And even new plants helped make medicine to cure some of the illness that were depopulating the world.

Hiram once said, “In the variety of its charms and the power of its spell, I know of no other place in the weld which can compare with it."This quote is so imperative to Binghams discovery. It explains the importance of the city and how mysterious the city is. He’s saying that no other place in the world can compare to it. When he did discover the lost city, he was not only very proud for actually finding it, but in awe of the city itself.

Learning Target 4- Cultural Blending

Binghams' discovery did in fact cause cultural blending. When he arrived in the city, he set up a camp. A small retreat to go back to when he was researching, writing and even living for the time being. When the time came and he left the city, he brought back thousands of artifacts to the United States. This is important because this could explain why it was forgotten and with studies, could prove human life before them. Also, it would tell them history of the place itself,

Effects of colonization also followed the finding. One effect of colonization is introduction to new species and plants. This is positive effect because there are new ways to make food and to live longer and healthier. Another effect is depletion of the nutrients in the soil. This is a negative effect because the earth is getting more unhealthy with the more human life being here.

The last effect is diseases were spreading almost everywhere. This is a negative effect because the population was dying and there was no cure to help save people’s lives.
