1. Assignment 1-1’s and Plan Feedback
While it was helpful to be able to submit plans to our module leads to be reviewed I found the process was unfair on some students. I waited several weeks for feedback on one of my plans despite submitting it well within the agreed timeframe and I noted that people who had submitted after me received feedback promptly. I can’t help but feel these people had a somewhat unfair advantage being able to gain feedback earlier and therefore start their assignments earlier. Additionally, request for 1-1’s were often unanswered giving those who did manage to arrange a session with the course lead another advantage over others. While I appreciate that it is a students responsibility to reach out for help if required, it can be difficult to reach lecturers at times.

2. Timetable changes
I understand these are sometimes unavoidable but adding in sessions to our timetable or changing times has real financial implications for those with jobs and or childcare concerns. It would be appreciated if the lectures could acknowledge these difficulties at times.

3. Thank you!
This semester feels so much more manageable in terms of work load without some of the previously set tasks (eg work book). It feels that the course team understands we are able to do background reading in our own time without having to provide structured tasks. It makes the course feel more manageable and a lot more enjoyable.
It can be very easy to focus on the negative but I am really enjoying this semester, the content is really interesting and I am grateful for how hard our lecture / course team are working to provide us with a good quality course.

One last thing: would it be feasible to hold a session to talk over what placement opportunities are available to us currently? While i understand they are not finalised and we aren’t able to select what placement we want to do in the summer it would be really interesting to know what opportunities we may have in the summer.

Attending university is more than gaining a degree and students should be encouraged to socialise and try new things.

Second nature have been very well prepared and brought a different (non NHS) angle to our learning which has been great!

I often feel unprepared when I arrive at lectures as notes have been uploaded last minute. I really feel we would benefit from notes being uploaded 24h in advance, especially when additional reading is recommended. This feels like it is not happening and is worse than last semester across all modules.

When timetable changes are made, please could the university appreciate that some flexibility is required in order to balance childcare, work etc., And the more notice given, the better. It feels like it is hard to rely on the accuracy of the timetable.

The marking itself took place after the initial return deadline and was split in half between two members of staff. The university advertises that 15 working days should be sufficient time to get work marked.

Come September (only 7 months away) there is potentially another year of Dietetic students and Nutrition students. By this time, I feel that the staff: student ratio would be unbalanced.

Attached is the Course Speciation which talks about staffing levels.

I like the way the self directed resources are on canvas for us to work through at our own pace.
I find the group work useful to discuss ideas but it can be a bit tiresome doing it every single seminar and may not be the best method for everyone to learn like that.
Having not being able to be on placement for the last month or so, I am very concerned about meeting the hours whilst trying to fit in studying, lectures and activities outside of uni.
Finally, I appreciate that all the missed sessions have been missed for valid reasons. It has allowed me to become comfortable in the environment. However I am worried about meeting the hours as there are not many weeks left when april holidays are taken away and wether these hours will be reduced.
- it would be great if extra groups could be made available for particular modules such as science related modules that are heavy on content and may need more guidance.

Lectures: I am surprised at how much I am enjoying Sociology and Health. The rest of the lectures have not disappointed and I find them very interesting. Sometimes I feel like the lectures are rushed because there is so much to get through and would benefit from the extra hour being dedicated to them instead of group work.

Lecture hours: Concerned we are going to have a backlog of hours to catch up on and it's going to add extra pressure. Those Fridays that we aren't at uni seem to be eaten up by extra things to do which would have been valuable to use for consolidating notes and doing assignments.
Condensing hours would still be a benefit even if it is just some of the lectures.
I actually liked doing a two day week of Sociology and Health I felt like it really helped me to understand the lectures. In the future could 2 weeks of lectures be delivered in one day? To free up days later on for assignments.

Volunteering: is a constant worry because it has not been the "do one a week, there's no pressure" task that was initially sold to us. I find it very beneficial, but not at all practical. There is extra pressure to complete the hours in a smaller time frame.

Extra-curricular activities: really disappointed that Weds afternoon's hours changed from 9-11 to 10-12 and 1-2 because it limits or stops the choices you have.

Learning opportunities: I'm finding it really helpful when the lecturers expand on how to read and pull out relevant information from papers. I feel like this information is so crucial. I would especially like it if all of the lecturers showed us how they would break down a paper to get different viewpoints on the subject.

1. The cancelled is causing a concern due to limited time left. The one week notice is okay but there are outside influences that would effect this e.g., work, childcare
2. There is a lack of feedback within all modules - there are still people waiting for marks on assignments from semester 1 which doesn’t fall in line with the 15 working day policy
3. The placement hours are beginning to cause an issue as it is going to be unachievable for some people however the quality of the education received whilst on placement is limited due to capabilities
4. Last minute cancellations of lectures are causing an issue for commuters, but also childcare if 24hr notice could be given as this allows rearrangements
5. The teaching in some modules seems to be very haphazard as not having the lecture slides or relevant pre-reading doesn’t allow for outside of lecture learning and reading around a subject
6. Placement for the summer organisation is starting to cause concern amongst the group as the little notice we are getting means people have less time to sort jobs and childcare, this is of concern because it’s in the summer holidays and limited availability is cropping up.
7. There seems to be an issue with teaching staff as due to not having more full time lecturers there becomes an issue with contact - especially with working days
8. There is concern over the communication module as the assignment has not been set and most of module is still yet to be taught which is going to cause stress and demoralisation across the group
9. Lecture times can sometimes be inconvenient as the seminar in the afternoon with some topics feels wasted due to resources
10. There generally feels like there is a lack of support throughout the modules which has become increasingly worrying as stress levels have risen and morale has decreased
