In the beginning i wanted to mak3 some new friends and even if was shy, I was still able to meet new people and the first week we already were a big group. Thanks to them I spent some wonderful days. One of my favourite days was the 11th, St. Laurence night. We spent the whole night together on the beach watching the falling stars in the sky making wishes. I visited some beautiful places like Gallipoli, Polignano a mare, Lecce, S.Maria di Leuca...they looked like a postcard and it was like a dream. The days unfortunately flew away and between laughter and hugs, diving from the rocks and nights spent on the beach, the last days arrived. During the last week we could feel sadness and melancholy in the air. One by one people were leaving and the beaches became empty. I kept telling myself : " Don't worry! You will come back nexy year!" But I was not ready to leave my friends. Then the last day came and we tried to enjoy our last night together, between cry and hugs. I was sad to leave, because i was also leaving there a piece of me, but I was also a little excited to hug my friends back home...oops! We cannot hug due to coronavirus... Santa Maria di Leuca was my favourite as it very interesting to see the two sees meet and you can see one green side and one blue side.

The Swift-Tuttle comet goes orbit around the sun and her dust and ice particles (meteors) leave the so called, shooting stars when entering the atmosphere producing fireworks.
This spectacular night falls right near the date when we celebrate the martyrdom of St. Lawrence, burned alive on the 10th of August. The shooting stars on this night should repesent the tears of the Saint during his torture that fly eternally into the universe and falls on earth every 10th of August since his death. Those who sees these tears, will remember the Saint's pain and will see their wishes come true.
