Chicago is known today for it's high crime rates but it wasn't always like that. Only after the drug boom did that happen and, soon, the war on 🤬 began during the late 1960s. Why did this happen? Given my previous statement we know why: 🤬 were pushed into highly populated hispanic, afrifcan american, etc communities in the United States. Of course, this would lead to gang wars and further crimilization of black youth who were pushed into 🤬 the more the spread continued.

It was theorized that the FBI had a part to play in this, pushing 🤬 into these areas to create a power vaccum to exploit due to the war/money crisis. They wanted to keep them down, to create money off them, and to further exploit them to further push the agenda. The media helped in this by pushing the "dangers of black youth" with countless anti-drug ads. Did this solve the problem? No, it did not as 🤬 continued to be a plague in these places. Why is it still a problem?

Lack of proper reform in these areas such as rehab or therapy has lessened the recovery process for most addicts. They end up relasping, specifically when they cannot sustain themselves once out of these prisons the government builds to contain them. To contain them and not let them try to retry their lives or be contributing members of society.

I do believe the war on 🤬 has had a worse effect now than it ever did in the past, specifically for communities such as the ones in Chicago. The media paints these people as heathens without realizing or trying to help these people recover. Instead, media profits off of us and our suffering for more money from the Government or the Rich to push this agenda.

It is truly sickening.

There's a sheer reason why it's called "sensationalist" media; its meant to attract the most viewers by selecting the topics that'll gather the most attention. When you chose sensationalist media, to cover the topic of mass incarceration you are basically setting up Colored people for failure. I believe that since most of the media is taken over by teens we would have the biggest takeaway from that commercial. I also strongly believe that what we usually see on the media or internet we try because if we see that see that someone are age is doing we might find it ok to try. Sensationalist is a use of exciting/shocking stories & language to provoke public interest. In the video,  the black male is talking about giving kids crack since their parents aren’t there. The black male looked like a monster and they are portraying the image of blacks looking like monsters and looking almost as he is dead in a way. This is also showing the fact that black people are known for crack and use crack more. They want to get the public interest because they want the public to interact to this advertisement. Which means they are contributing to mass incarceration because of police see blacks doing crack/🤬 etc. they will be locked and and will serve mandatory minimum even if it was a just one time.  Also , the advertisement caused the people to want to react and get the government to take action in this problematic situation. The government actually did take action and decided to drop dugs in our neighborhoods instead of dropping them in the wealthy and Rich neighborhoods.
