This can create an opportunity for students to realise how easy it is to change Wikipedia content and then hopefully also become responsible users and creators online.

Our third-year English for Education students have a unit on textual editing and I have been wondering how we can arrange for them to edit documents written by first-year or second-year students (ideally we would like to follow the process approach when writing where the lecturer can provide feedback on writing pieces, students can review the feedback and improve their pieces, and only then submit). This would provide a great opportunity for such collaboration. Are students able to comment on one another's work and make suggestions, or do they simply add and adapt what is already there?

I think Wikipedia editing could help with learning goals in terms of some theories they need to learn, students do not like theories :-) So if they are tasked with helping others learn theories, they might be more motivated.

I added another post here about how I think Wikipedia can help, which I do believe it can. But I have a question though, a challenge. Many students learn from many lecturers that Wikipedia should not be trusted. They constantly talk about this. So how can we inspire them to think differently of Wikipedia?
