Black vernacular English was created in this time through slaves picking up parts of the English language and combining it with their mother tongue. Many people in poverty stricken countries can not afford to get enough education to be fully proficient in English. The article notes that this has a detrimental effect in the realm of science, while a unifying language might seem beneficial for science, it instead mostly creates barriers for entry into scientific fields.While many people see globalization as a positive thing, it is essentially inseparable from colonization. Often times tradition and culture are underplayed or erased in order keep up with the global order.
