This link is a clip from the movie Hunger Games. The Hunger Games is very much like the giver. For example, the freedom the villagers get. In the Hunger Games they have no choice on if they go in the Hunger Games or not. This is why I compare these to storylines because, in the Giver novel Jonas and his peers/family have no say or choice on anything that goes in their community.

In the real world some people don't get the choice nor the freedom of what to wear to school, just like in the giver. In the giver they don't have choice of what they're going to wear. They all had to dress the same. We have places where peoeple don’t get to pick what they wear, or what they do as a job. Some people don’t get to choose who they marry nor when they eat and that’s just how things are. On the other hand so many people get to decide what they do and where they go and who they’re friends with. It also depends on how you see things. On hownyou decided to view our society and theirs. The giver is a very unrealistic society.
