He's breaking free from those limited ideas and even reinforces his opinion with the sentence

In my opinion, Born This Way represents the message that every person should love themselves, even if others counteract that.

Lady Gaga sings about the way that your sexuality/race/gender do not represent you. This also concerns people who bully others, or have an opinion on people they don't know, based only on only their sexuality/race/gender.

Lady Gaga wants to break the stereotypes about people who are "different", and to help us believe we are all the same.
