When I first heard of motivational interviewing, I asked myself if I used it in my life so far. The answer is, not to the extent of making someone change with this process. However, I can see myself using motivational interviewing with friends and family. That being said, it seems to be really useful in conversations. I feel pretty good in using motivational interviewing, but I still need to practice more to get a better flow of things.

This quote resonates with me because change is difficult for many people, whether that be because they don't like change or its too hard for them to do. And, it takes time, along with being patient with oneself to accomplish. Change is not something that needs to be rushed, but rather something to appreciate as going through change or coming up with a plan to change can be tough (so, if you are able to change and do, then that's amazing!).

I resonate with this quote because I think it's true to an extent when it comes to motivational interviewing. For example, when you do motivational interviewing, you can be going into this looking for some sort of solution/advice to help you in the situation you are currently in. And, it can be hard to hear something that you don't want to be true; however, if someone else says what you are thinking (when it comes to approaching a solution, then maybe it would be time to implement that strategy).

This quote resonates with me because it is important to focus in being in the present, if not, then you will worry about certain aspects of your life, and that could lead to missing opportunities that could make your life even better. If applying to mindfulness, you could say that if you don't recognise what you are feeling in the current moment, then it can later impact your life since you won't acknowledge that feeling.

And in a way, it's nice because it's your personal space, and it can make you reflect on what you are feeling and why you feel that way.

Therefore, I was used to someone ordering the food for me. So, when I got older, I got a bit scared because I thought something would go wrong the payment, or maybe the cashier doesn't understand what I am saying. However, as the years went by, I started to order food with my friends in front of me when they order so I would order right after them. Eventually, I started to order food myself without friends, and I feel a bit more confident.

Instead of being in your thoughts, observe your thoughts and view it from a different perspective.
