Venus is the hottest planet in our solar system, with a surface temperature of around 462°C (867°F). It's also known for its thick, toxic atmosphere composed primarily of carbon dioxide, causing a runaway greenhouse effect that traps heat. Venus spins in the opposite direction of most other planets, and its day is longer than its year.

Here's a more detailed look at some key facts about Venus:

1. Extreme Temperature:

Venus has a surface temperature of around 462°C (867°F).

This extreme heat is due to its thick, carbon dioxide-rich atmosphere, which traps heat and creates a runaway greenhouse effect.

2. Dense Atmosphere:

Venus's atmosphere is made up of about 96% carbon dioxide and 3% nitrogen.

The atmospheric pressure on Venus is 90 times that of Earth.

3. Unique Rotation:

Venus rotates in a retrograde direction, meaning it spins clockwise on its axis, unlike most other planets.

A day on Venus is longer than a year on Venus, taking 243 Earth days to complete one rotation, while it takes 225 Earth days to orbit the Sun.

4. Size and Structure:

Venus is the sixth largest planet in our solar system.

It's similar in size and mass to Earth and is sometimes called Earth's "evil twin".

5. Lack of Moons and Rings:

Venus has no moons or rings.

6. Surface Features:

Venus has a surface that is largely composed of volcanic features, including lava plains and volcanoes.

The surface is relatively young, possibly due to global-scale resurfacing events.
