Shamrocks The shamrocks or clovers are an important part of the simbología joined San Patricio. The legend counts that San Patricio, to convert to the catholicism the polytheistic Celtic pagans, took one of the clovers that were abounding in the island and indicating three leaves of the plant I explain to them the mystery of the Holiest Trinidad: a plant with three leaves that complete it, like the Trinidad, an alone God with three persons, Padre, Son and Holy Spirit.

But already the former Celtic Druids were considering to the clover a sacred plant for his triad of leaves, since for them 3 it was a mystical number. During the 19th century, in the revolt of the Irishes against the english men, the clover turned into a sign of identity of the Irish pride and acquired an important political and social fort up to the point of which " wearing o'the green " it turned into a fact punished by the law. Nowadays both the use of the green color and the use of clovers in this festivity not only form of the recovery of the Irish identity but it is a form of honoring to the Island Emerald.

The Lucky Leprechauns Los goblins are small beings of not more than three feet of high place, of reserved, dark and solitary character, which are some of the Irish excellent symbols. Cobblers of profession, are dressed always of green in a showy hat and in two golden coins strongly seized in his hands. In a hand they take a magic currency that though it becomes exhausted always returns to appear in the palm of the hand, another currency turns into ashes on having been worn-out. The choice of the goblins like Irish symbol is that they were considered to be the guardians of the exchequers of the Fairies. The Leprechauns hide a great pot full of gold at the end of the rainbow, her changing rainbow constant to prevent it from discovering..

The tradition says that if one sees to one of these green goblins it is not necessary to lose them of dress so like that we will find the exchequer at the end of the rainbow.

Wearing of the Green Vestir of green is a tradition that represents that a person has Irish forbears, or simply it is done as an honoring to Ireland and to his culture.

1. Patrician San neither was Irish … nor was called Patrician
The name of this saint was Maewyn and it was born in Scotland at the end of the 4th century A.D.. It ended up at Ireland after escaping of the slavery and there it was where it initiated a long evangelizing route. A miraculous legend weighs on his figure, it liberated Ireland of serpents. Really this species does not exist in the whole country (except that one comes to a zoo), something that yes happens, for example, in United Kingdom.

2. The San Patricio's first great parade was in 1996
It is true that San Patricio celebrates, especially in Ireland, for a lot of time. But the first great parade took place in 1996 in the streets of Dublin with the aim of ensalzar the historical and cultural values of this country, and to attract the attention of the persons' million of Irish origin that live in different countries. The assistance has been multiplying year a year up to being a followed event (and lived) worldwide.

3. The porqué of the Irish symbol of the clover of three leaves
One of the big icons of Ireland is the clover of three leaves (Irish shamrock). If we see it in cartels, videoes and parades of this day so " globally Irish " it is because the own San Patricio was using it to explain with his three leaves the existence of the Holiest Trinidad: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. It is a metaphor of the evangelización that had the island in the last chinks of the Roman Empire.

4. The beer becomes green
In Saint Patrick's Day there sell more than 13 million looks of beer of green color. It knows like the normal one but they add an ingredient that makes change to green. It is the classic one who every time is in more countries during the most special day of the Irishes.

5. Chicago and his river … green?
In the American city of Chicago San Patricio is lived up to his last consequences. With many citizens of Irish origin it is obvious that do holidays but, did you know also that they dye his river of green? There use completely natural dyes that do not damage the water and that joined the fray decades ago with an ecological protest. Ultimately it is quite in a spectacle that attracts many people.

6. The biggest parade is not done in Ireland
San Patricio is increasingly global. The descendants' quantity from Irish families that emigrated to countries as The United States provokes that there are cities out of Ireland in which Saint Patrick's parades are more multitudinous., for example, more than 2 million persons attend that of New York every year, being the biggest and impressive of all.
