I think this theory is true because I have seen this happen when somebody is being made fun of or clearly needs help, and everybody just ignores them. The story Cheboygan Day supports this theory because when Adele, who is being bullied by almost the whole school because of her brother, only one person sticks up for her, but only once. He sticks up for her one time in class, but he quickly became embarrassed and wanted to keep/impress his friends so he quickly joined the group that made fun of her, even though he didn't want to.

A theme of the short story "Cheboygan Day" is succumbing peer pressure and following the crowd affects your social life. This is the theme because you might become friends with someone you don't like just because everyone else is friends with that person, and that will affect who your actual friends are.

The message Shirley Jackson was trying to convey was very clear by the end of the story because readers understand how bad following the crowd without questioning them can be when the citizens began throwing rocks at Tessie.

According to the video, what is the difference between in-text citations and a reference list?
1. Reference lists give you the full details of a source and in-text citations just give short, key details of the source.
Why would someone need to use any of this information when writing?
1. Someone would need to use these citations to help remember where they found the information discussed, and/or to tell readers where they got their information/quotes.

I think the story will be about a greedy man named Ebeneezer Scrooge being taught a lesson by ghosts of the past, present, and future.

What tone does the creator of this trailer want to convey to the audience? What makes you think that?

The creator of this trailer is trying to convey an ominous or scary tone because of the eerie background music and visuals.

In what way does Scrooge's past affect his present? Scrooge's past experiences like having a lonely childhood and a negative relationship with his father affect his present life because he began to treat people in the way people were cruel to him. Have there been any positive, loving people in his life? Who? Scrooge's little sister Fan was a positive, loving person in his life. Do you believe Scrooge has a reason to be cruel to those around him? Why or why not? I believe Scrooge does have reasons and explanations behind his cruelty, but that does not excuse it or make it appropriate. Treating others with such hatred just because he is hurting will not get him anywhere in life.
