I am looking to further my knowledge of private schools and what they offer for special education services/education for staff and students - Additionally, my goal is to create new and effective professional development for educators to grow their knowledge in how to support students with special needs.

From Dropout to Doctorate

When I hit the age of 16, I knew that the normal public school did not meet the needs that I had. I dropped out at 16 and started working as a nanny, this showed me that I wanted to work with kids. I entered into my GED program and moved straight to an associate degree. When student teaching, I was able to work at a self-contained special education school and fell in love with the field. I knew at that point that I wanted to make sure that I was able to be a voice for the ones who could not speak.

Started at WCTC for an associate degree - and moved on to WGU for a bachelor's and master's degree in special education - graduated in December of 23' from MSOE with a degree in Educational Leadership - Enrolled at Alverno in January 2024. This has helped shape my character in a way to allows me to be vulnerable and know that I can always work on bettering myself through education.

Throughout my life, I have been around different people who have shaped who I am and helped me develop who I am as a person. I have had some incredible people who have taught me how to be a better person, how to make an impact, and how to live with happiness and love. I have also had the opportunity to be around people who have helped shape who I am by showing me who I don't want to be.
