Wages were lower, they had no right to vote, get certain jobs and with the exception of aristocracy were usually house maids. The suffragists/ suffragettes movement fought against this up until the war.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Some women received fair minimum wages and were able to experience new jobs. They could illustrate their capabilities and felt significant to the war effort. Some women even got equal pay to men. Women could see their importance to society and it highlighted their equality to men. Women were transformed during the war and it remained after the war, reinforced by how women over 30 were entitled to vote. </div>]]></description>
