Some major beliefs of Transcendentalism is that nature is that best teacher. They believe that nature is God, and since all humans are apart of nature, they have parts of God within them, making them divine. This is why humans have morals and know the difference between right and wrong. Transcendentalists also believe that God is present everywhere, so there is no need for churches or organized religion. They believe in having a direct relationship with God, and not through church leaders. Transcendentalists also believe that all people are good at their core, and that society can corrupt people by causing them to conform which in fact kills their individuality. They also believe that materialism can cause corruption because it is superficial and worthless to their well being.
