Their roles and jobs within the stereotypical society are often related to high physical activity, such as being a soldier, athlete, policeman, or firefighter. While also thought of as the greatest scientists and mathematicians.

What attributes, behaviours, and roles does our society associate with femininity?

Our society undervalues women, as it thinks women are weak, vulnerable, fragile (in the sense of emotions), and supportive.

What messages could young people receive from viewing pornography?

Young people could compare themselves with the actors, viewing what they watch as the 'normal' standard. This can discourage them or maybe see that growing to that standard is possible for the person.

What are some of the potential legal, social and/or personal impacts of viewing pornography?

Some of these said issues can be the access to pornography despite not being of the legal age for it. There can also be a religious ban on pornography for certain religions. Or this issue can lower the viewer's self-esteem if they have less 'stamina' than the actor or don't have their physiques.

How is this difference treated at school?

They may be treated with bullying, often by people who have high self-esteem. This difference can heavily impact the affected person on a deep mental level, breaking them on an emotional level.

How have you approached differences?

I approached differences by having a diverse friend group and treating everyone I talk to with the same amount of respect, promoting equality. Treating everyone equally will ensure a fair relationship with everyone, prioritising no one.

How could things be better at school with regard to differences?

By teaching the students and staff about equality, it creates an environment where everyone understands each other's background, emotions and beliefs. This can deepen the friendship bonds between the student, and teachers can reflect and evaluate on ways they can become better and more accepting individuals. Eventually, removing racial discrimination and discrimination in general.

What can you change personally in how you respond to difference?

A personal change I can make regarding 'difference' can be shown in many forms. This includes being more accepting and inclusive of people with differences, whether that may be racial or mental. This change will allow me to acknowledge the diversity within society and everyday life to a better degree. Respecting the idea that no one can be taught the same way in each subject.

These contrasting beliefs and status then lead to different opinions on the majority of things, including the ideal pathway.

What have you learnt from participating in the activity?

Through the participation in the activity, I learnt and reinforced my understanding of differences and privileges based solely on who we are. This can be seen where homeless Aboriginal individuals were the ones who were closer to the back of the gym after all of the questions, and 'white' race and 'normal' people were closer to the top of the ladder. This taught the lesson of societal discrimination against specific minorities and the group of disabled individuals. Shaping the way most people would treat others based on their demeanour and appearance.

This will improve the person's mental health due to the inclination towards inclusivity. It'd also promote equality and influence people towards other equality issues, such as the gender pay gap. Being able to express themselves to their fullest potential and live proudly.

How can challenging discrimination and transphobia benefit everyone in society?

Through the act of challenging discrimination and transphobia, it benefits everyone in society by creating an inclusive atmosphere.

Scenario:

Your boyfriend posts lots of selfies on social media. His followers often comment on his pictures, complimenting his appearance and saying how 'hot' he is. You are worried that he might be interested in some of his followers, rather than you.

Questions:

What are some aggressive, passive, and assertive ways of responding to your scenario?

Passive: The passive way of responding to the scenario would be to allow it to happen. This means that 'I' would disregard 'my' emotions and opinions. Letting the flow of things overtake my life.

Aggressive: Being aggressive in the scenario would mean that I would be hostile to the boyfriend, using any means to achieve the removal of the disliked photo. The methods that may be proposed could be blackmail and verbally communicating the opinion.

Assertive: The only way of being assertive in the scenario would be to talk to them about the unfavourable look in the photo. Explaining that you would politely like to take down the image from the internet.

How does your body language and tone of voice affect this?

The body language and tone of voice will affect this as it quickly implies the path of the conversation. Large gestures and a loud voice will affect the conversation, as the listener may note that the conversation will be one of an argument, rather than a walk-through. Whereas a calm tone may reveal that the person is willing to listen and be civilised.
