Due April 26 with your paper
Visit your selected object in person. Get close, view it from a distance, look at it through your camera, compare how it looks in person to how it looks through your camera.

After spending at least 30 minutes looking at your object, draw it from memory. Next, draw it while looking at it. Last, take a photograph of it. Compare the three modes of documentation (drawing from memory, drawing from life, photographic document). What did each mode capture that the others did not? Keep your drawings and written comparisons in your diary and turn in your digital photo with your paper).

In your journal, spend time writing about the difference between viewing this artwork online vs. in person. What could you not tell about your artwork online that became apparent in person? Think especially about …

Color: how did the color of your artwork change from online to in person? Is it darker, lighter, a different hue or tone?

Materials: Revisit the adjectives you used to describe the materials. Do they still apply when looking in person?

Technique: Can you see evidence of techniques used more clearly?
