Zeus jealous wife Hera casted a spell on Hercules which caused him to slaughter everyone he loved afterwards Hercules realized all the damage that he had done and wanted to take his life but he traveled to Delphi to figure out a way to be forgiven for his sins ; doing so he was given 10 labors.

2)For his 12th labor he had to travel to the underworld and capture the Cerberus. When he arrived he met with Hades and asked to borrow his dog. Hades told him if he could tame the beast with weapons or metal that could. Hercules used his loin armor from his first labor to tame the beast. He walked away with it on lease and victorious.
