We are also ready to support schools/institutions that have big pieces of land to grow woodlots and forests that shall help to reduce on loss of forest cover that is created due to firewood consumption. Through this, schools/institutions shall be making a saving or generating an income from the harvests and sales made. As Educationists, we shall be working towards integrating these green spaces into our curriculum for sustainability and transfer of knowledge from school to the communities. This will be done through direct planting of trees and Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR) approaches where possible. As Educationists, we are working towards integrating these green spaces into our curriculum for sustainability and transfer of knowledge from school to the communities.

As a Ministry of Education and Sports, we call upon all MDAs and other organisations to join us in making Uganda a greener country.

1. Scroll horizontally to the right to explore the various columns. Each column represents a region as labelled, and the page extends further to the right.

2. Teachers are expected to upload photos showing the greening activities in the schools as well as the level of greening achieved periodically. If you have any photo to post, click on the plus (+) symbol located above the last post in your respective region. This will prompt you to provide a title to your post including the name of the school/district and to write something fantastic in the additional space about the post or your greening journey. Then Search the symbols listed below and add your photograph to share the level of greening in your school. Explore all the symbols and see what more you can do with this Padlet space.

3. As we progress, we shall engage in developing lesson plans in various subjects that make use of the green spaces. These lesson plans and reading materials shall also be uploaded in the same way the photos are posted. While engaging with the resources posted by others, you are encouraged to leave comments or provide feedback. Please ensure that your language remains polite and respectful. When we get to this activity of sharing lesson plans, you will have the freedom to download any of the available resources for your personal use. However, it is strictly prohibited to sell any of the products obtained from this platform.

During the session we shared knowledge and experiences on how schools can effectively embrace and implement the project, focusing on the establishment and proper management of tree nursery beds and strengthening environmental clubs. The training concluded with an inspiring student lead demonstration on how nursery beds are managed in the school, highlighting the techniques involved in seedling preparation, care, and management.
